GOSF: Then and Now

The buzz around the Great Online Shopping Festivals is increasing every day. We expect this year’s edition of the GOSF to be even crazier than before, with even more amazing deals from all your favourite retailers. GOSF: Then and Now

Around 200 online retailers participated in GOSF 2013. There were two ways to shop – Shop The Deals or Browse by Style. The latter included styles aimed at a whole range of people, ranging from ‘for the fashionista’ to ‘for the techie’ and from ‘for the stylish guy’ to ‘for the businesswoman’.

In addition, GOSF tied up with Bollywood through the movie Dhoom 3, which was released at the same time of the year. Through GOSF, people could buy merchandise used by Katrina and Aamir’s characters in the movie. There was an exclusive space for viewing Aaliya’s cart and Sahir’s cart (the names of the characters). This innovative piece of marketing dramatically expanded GOSF’s audience, by both boosting awareness through celebrity endorsements as well as piggy-backing on Dhoom 3’s massive marketing efforts.

This year, over 300 retailers, both online and offline, will be taking part.

Plus, this time around, Google is also giving you the opportunity to grab amazing online deals even before GOSF officially kicks off on December 10th. This will happen through a game that tests your shopping speed, with the winner getting exciting gifts in the form of special coupons and vouchers for the festival.

What’s also new is the “299 Corner”, a section where branded products priced between Rs. 600-1500 will be sold at a flat rate of Rs. 299. To add to the excitement, these products will have both free home delivery and cash on delivery option.

Remember the GOSF Pre-Party we mentioned? Well, this year, Google has launched the GOSF 2014 webpage 14 days before the shopping festival. With 2014 being GOSF’s biggest year yet, the figure 14 has been taken into consideration for all of Google’s big plans.
